Brittany Anjoy presents BEWAA: Interpretations of Ghanaian Xylophone

Traditional Ghanaian Xylophone music performed with interpretations by New York musicians. This performance represents a nine year relationship with Gyil coming to fruition in Brooklyn. Bewaa is a traditional genre of xylophone music including funeral and social songs. Brittany presents songs learned from master xylophonist Bernard Woma, and proteges Jerome Balsab & Alfred Kpebesaane. Special guests will perform to create an experience of traditional music festivity.
This event is for all who have spent time studying, listening, and celebrating traditional Ghanaian music & dance.
